Episodes of JBRS have found an audience on the airwaves in the United States, Europe, and New Zealand. Additionally since April 2021, the show’s MixCloud Channel has started developing a podcast audience around the world.

03

entertaining

JBRS programming is informed by a programming  ethos that values entertainment over education or ‘challenging’ audiences. Each episode is crafted like a composition controlling variety, energy, and pacing – mixing the latest recordings with classic tracks from the Golden Age of Jazz. Additional variety is supplied by including Roots Blues, Acid Jazz and World influences.

To provide programming flexibility to stations, hour-one of the full 2-hour show is also packaged as a stand-alone 1-hour program available through our distribution partners.

Tidbit 1
Moz’s original degree led to a career in Corporate Auditing and IT before a second degree in Music reoriented him towards work as a composer for projects in Film and Dance, and songwriting. Following a stint living in the US his return to Montreal in 2004 found him sitting behind a board in a small radio station hosting a midnight jazz show – originally as a hobby!
Tidbit 2
For years while studying Music, he supported himself working as a film projectionist – he holds a Provincial License as a projectionist.
Tidbit 3
There is good jazz – there is not so good jazz (like all genres). Each week programming the show, he filters out the latter so that you can enjoy the former.
